Vietnam Era Special Forces 5th Group Beret Flash 2nd Lieutenant
Item #: WR528
This is a US Special Forces 5th Group beret flash with 2nd Lieutenant insignia sewn on it. This flash is an example of an in country made flash during the Vietnam war period. It measure 2 1/8" wide and 2 1/4" high. The flash is outlined in white, with the four yellow and three red stripes of the 5th group running from the top left to the bottom right corner of the flash. Sewn in the center of the flash is the yellow bar of a 2nd Lieutenant. The colors of the flash are still vivid, and contrast well with the green backing of the flash. This flash would have been worn on the beret, or could have been worn unoffically on a boonie hat or other form of headgear. The flash is slightly frayed in a couple of spots around the perimeter of the flash. This little piece will look great in any Vietnam display.
