Item #: WR624

This is an M7 Bayonet made for the M-16 rifle with an M8A1 scabbard. The M7 is not maker marked, leading me to believe it is a foreign made piece. The bayonet has an overall length of 11 3/4", with a blade length of 6 3/4". This bayonet was designed to be used with the M16/M4 platform, but can also be used as a fighting knife or utility knife. The spear point style blade, cross guard and pommel are all parkerized. The two piece grips are made of black plastic and are flawless. The M8A1 scabbard is in very good condition. The web hanger is equipped with the M1901 style hook, enabling it to be carried from a pistol belt or other web gear equipped with eyelets. Like the bayonet, I believe the scabbard is foreign made. It has a makers mark, but is not one of the American manufacturers. The scabbard tip has the metal guard to prevent the bayonet from coming through. The metal throat is stamped M8A1, but has no other markings. This is a post Vietnam era combination, is very good condition, and will compliment any bayonet collection.
