This is a First Aid Kit Airplane used by the US military from the Vietnam era through the Cold War era. This first aid kit was generally found in fixed and rotary winged aircraft as part of the Basic Issue Items (BII). The kit was mounted in a very visible, easily accessible location in the vehicle. It consisted of the following items: dressing, first aid 3 each, compress & bandage 1 each, bandage, gauze 2each, bandage, muslin 1 each, glove, patient exam 4 each, blade, surgical prep razor 1 each, eye dressing kit 1 each, bandage, adhesive 18 each, bag, dental prosthesis 1 each, pad, providine/iodine 10 each, adhesive tape, surgical 3 each and gauze, petrolatum. About the only things that remain from the actual kit are some of the gauze bandages. The zipper on the carrying case is broken. The front side of the carrying case is marked with the medical caduceus, a red cross and the nomenclature and national stock number. If you have or know of someone portraying an aviation unit this would go great with their aircraft.
