This is a copper bodied powder flask from the mid 1800's manufactured by Sykes. The flask measures 8 1/4" in length and 3 1/2" at it's widest part. The copper body cover is dent free, but does have a couple of small blemishes in the finish. The copper has a very eye pleasing rich patina. The spout is graduated from 2 1/2 to 3 1/4 drams in 1/4 dram increments. The brass top unscrews from the body to fill the flask with powder. The small index screw for the spout is still present. The top is stamped on one side of the spout. It simply reads "SYKES/PATENT". The powder cutoff works perfectly. The copper body is embellished on both sides with an alternating star and circle design. This one will really look great in your black powder shotgun collection!
