WWII US Army Twenty First Corps Patch

This is a US Army Twenty First Corps patch from the World War II period. The patch measures 2 11/16" square. The patch is square in shape with a blue four leaf clover overlaid with white crossed arrows and a red acorn in the center, all on a green background with a green border. The four leaf clover is a sign of good fortune, while the acorn is a symbol of strength and the crossed arrows represent the fighting power of the corps. The US Twenty First Corps was activated on 6 December, 1943 at Camp Polk, Louisiana. Twenty First Corps trained an estimated 200,000 troops from 70 different units before embarking for Europe in November, 1944. The Twenty First Corps fought in the European Theater of Operations, and received campaign streamers for the Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe campaigns. This one piece patch is all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch and it has have never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
