WWII US Army Twenty Third Corps Patch

This is a US Army Twenty Third Corps patch from the World War II period. The patch measures 2 1/2" at the widest point and 3" high. The patch is in the shape of an oval divided into a blue field on top and a white field on the bottom with a blue border. Within the oval are three arrows with the points oriented upwards. The blue and white colors represent the corps level organization, while the three arrows represent the strength of the corps. The US Twenty Third Corps was constituted on 9 January, 1944 and activated on 15 January, 1944 at Camp Bowie, Texas. The Twenty Third Corps fought in the European Theater of Operations, but did not receive any campaign streamers. This one piece patch is all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch and it has have never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
