Early 1900's Marine Corps "Full" Dress Blue Tunic

This is a United States Marine Corps "full dress" blue tunic from the early 1900's. Like all Marine dress blues prior to 1947, there are no external pockets. It has the crimson epaulets on the shoulders, along with the crimson collar and cuff tabs. The eight button coat has the gold USMC eagle, anchor and 13 star buttons, with ten smaller buttons of the same type for the cuffs, epaulets and back of the coat. The coat size buttons are all from Horstmann of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The smaller buttons are also all from Horstmann. One of the epaulette buttons is missing, along with the two from the back of the tunic. The coat is half lined and has one inner pocket on the left side. The sleeve linings are still sewn in, the left one is ink stamped Quartermaster's Dept./U.S. Marine Corps,/1910-1911/2-S. The right sleeve lining is not ink stamped or marked in any other way. The collar does not have a set of eagle, globe and anchor insignia, and was not altered to wear them. A paper tag is still sewn into the inside of the collar showing the coat to be a No 2 Short, Full-Dress Coat manufactured by the Quartermaster's Department U.S.M.C. and dated 1909 1910.There is no insignia on either sleeve. I believe this pre WWI "full" dress coat was never issued. The jacket remains in very good condition, and will make a nice addition to any USMC collection.
