This is a German Model 1942 helmet excavated from the site of the summer 1943 Kursk battlefield in Russia, the second one I've had from that battle. The helmet is in relic condition, but is very stable. There is no liner or chinstrap, but the rivets and liner band are still present. There is a very visible Heer (Army) decal on the left side of the helmet. The heat stamp is not visible dur to the rust. There are no traces of winter white camouflage paint on the helmet. There are no holes in the helmet, the structural integrity of the helmet is excellent. The interior of the helmet matches the exterior in appearance. While it is in relic condition, this helmet has some great display power, and comes from the largest tank battle ever fought. It will make a great conversation piece among your WWII German collection.
