WWII German Nazi Party Banner

This is a Nazi Party banner from the World War II period. This one is a pretty desirable size, measuring 87" wide and 43 1/4" high. It is constructed of a single panel of red cotton fabric. A white disc with a black canted swastika is sewn in the center of the red field. This flag is two sided. A narrow fly is sewn into the left side, with a tie at the top and bottom to attach the flag to a standard. The cotton ties at the bottom edge are missing. The colors of the banner remain very vibrant, with the red field showing no discoloration or fading. There are several spots of staining on the flag on both sides to the right side of the swastika. There are also a series of burn holes to the left, right and a couple on the white field in the center. The holes line up when the flag is folded, so the burn damage occurred when the flag was folded. The white field of the swastika shows some moderate staining. There are no major rips or tears in the banner, but there are a few small holes scattered around, all in the red field. These banners were hung in buildings throughout Germany to promote the National Socialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Party (NSDAP) founded in 1919. These made prized souvenirs for the allied soldiers, and this one most likely made it's way back to the states in some GI's duffel bag after the war. If you have the wall space, this banner still has some nice display power!
