WWII German NSDAP Flag

This is an NSDAP flag from the World War II period. This one is a very desirable size, measuring 64 1/2"" wide and 36 1/2" high. It is constructed of a single panel of red cotton fabric. A white disc with a black canted swastika is sewn in the center of the red field. This flag is two sided. A 1 3/4" white canvas fly is sewn into the left side, with a hemp loop at the top, the bottom one has been cut off. This flag was designed to flown outside from a flag pole. The colors of the flag remain very vibrant, with the red field showing no discoloration or fading. There is no staining on the flag on either side. The white field of the swastika shows no staining either. There are no major rips or tears in the banner, but there are a few small holes scattered around, all in the red field. On the reverse of the fly is an ink stamp that reads Gosch 1,0 x 1,7, apparently the size in meters. These flags were flown outside buildings throughout Germany to promote the National Socialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Party (NSDAP) founded in 1919. These made prized souvenirs for the allied soldiers, and this one most likely made it's way back to the states in some GI's duffel bag after the war. If you have the wall space, this banner still has some nice display power!
