WWI US Model 1918 BAR 2nd Assistant Gunner's Magazine Belt

This is a US Model 1918 Browning Automatic Rifle magazine belt for the 2nd assistant gunner used during World War I. The belt was manufactured by Plant Brothers & Company and has 4 magazine pockets capable of carrying eight 20 round magazines for the BAR and four cartridge pockets capable of carrying eight 5 round stripper clips for the M1903 rifle. The belt is constructed of two separate magazine sections connected by a belt with a brass connecting link at each end. Each magazine section is ink stamped 1519/PLANT BROS & CO./BROWNING COLT/2nd ASST./RIGHT or LEFT/9-1918. The material still retains it's original khaki color and has no staining. All eight snaps on the pockets work perfectly. The eyelets on the top and bottom edge of the belt are all present. This magazine belt is in near mint condition. If you are a World War I collector this will add some sizzle to your display!
